An early XMas present for Mom....

Chris

I was looking over the blog today and realized the most important person in my life isn't even mentioned (I don't think). He's an especially smart man. He has been an electrician since the age 17. A father since 25. He's an uncle to look up to, and an excellent & supportive son and brother. He's at the top of my list for the best father award. He's there when you need him rain or shine, so he makes a great friend (my best). But he's there whether he knows you or not. He's traveled to other countries to help others. He supports me in any adventure I decide to do. He's human of course. But I adore him and am very glad I chased, waited patiently for (yeah right), lassoed and married him 17 years ago, after he decided he couldn't live without me. Ha!

#13

SO, I've been attempting / trying to get these photos of our nephew to him and his Dad. (sorry robby & drew)... But of course the file was too large. And of course I didn't know that until I finally broke down and asked my brother, B (who is the "computer" person of our group). Doesn't everyone have one of those, the computer person. Or the technically gifted. I can fix almost any one's TV. Whether it's the cable, antenna, VCR (yep...my mom still uses hers, but not as much), etc. There's the electrician (my man) / plumber / roofer and such in every family.

ANYWAY, I'm way off topic. The best way, I figured out was to create one of those fun movies. And here is a little more information that you probably don't want, but I want to give....OK, Drew...he is the second generation athlete of his family. First it was his Dad and Mom (baseball/basketball for Dad and cheerleader for Mom). Blaine, Drew's brother was very much the athlete in his younger man life. He is moving toward MMA - and that's for sure another topic. Now, back to Drew. He is very talented at / in baseball and basketball...they seem second nature to him. It's ingrained in him. I don't think he's one of those who has been browbeat into it. He has a genuine love for both sports. And I'm proud of him for that. I can't wait to see him on TV one day and know that I once made a "movie" of him at a tournament he played in at 14 years old. ENJOY!

Our girl

Okay so, my girl saw that I had posted the deer picture and Jake. And she was a bit, well, sad that there was nothing about her. So I'm posting a picture from this summer when she went to horsecamp. She LOVED it! So enjoy.

CHRISTMAS

So...we didn't get any snow. I must say I was a wee bit disappointed. I had hope the weathermen had been wrong. They are only human, right? My husband, my sister-in-law and I traipsed around in the rain yesterday to look for a specific gift for someone and wound up going to two malls. But ya know, I thoroughly enjoyed myself. For one, we had time...that is something that we don't have much of and we had money. Now there is something that we could not say, well for a long time. We've always just used the trickle down effect when it came to an important event. We'd just take one week's check and use it and then try to make up for it somewhere else...anywhere else. We would usually buy what we could afford for people and hope they liked it. But last year and again this year we could afford to buy what they wanted (too a degree). But the whole time the three of us were out it was raining and it was cold. I love xmas.

Now this may not be everyone's cup of tea, but this is my kid, Jake (in the red). And that is his 1st harvested deer. It was early in the season, late mid-November. And now that we have a blog, he wanted me to post it. He's growing up so quickly. His dad was bursting with pride. And as you can see on his face, Jake was too. The other young man is Montgomery, the son of the land owner.

Reunion (Sort of)

Two posts in one day....this could be the beginning of something...

Okay, so our family is separated by miles, some more than others. But every now and then we get together. But it had been a LONG while since we had seen Billie, our long lost cousin. I think like anyone would, she had a hard time when her Dad / our uncle passed away. He was a character and I didn't know but sort of the glue. He's missed, deeply. But so was she, I was really glad to see her. Then there's Vicky (it might be "ie", but I can't remember for sure). All grown up and mature. She seemed older than me, not in appearance just maturity. And the many children. Mine, my brother's, and my cousins'. The whole reason we were there I felt was our grandmother who is 92. The matriarch...and the leader... the beginning. We were singing, crying (the kids), playing and creating memories. Enjoy my Mom's side of the family... minus a good many but still a good many. I can't wait til we do it again, with EVERYONE...hint hint.

Finally!

How could it be 2007 (almost 2008) and I didn't have a blog. I've whined to my brother for months, well that may be an exaggeration, but for a while to help me get a site. Well he basically said this morning that I could figure it out for myself and told me how. Exciting. I join all those sites I browse everyday, ie. PerezHilton, Rosie, and TMZ....even more exciting. Well I'm going to take some time and think of what my first topic will be... it has to be good, ya know.... since it's the first official one. Check back.
