hell...i mean hail...

Okay so this is going to be alittle elementary, so you may want to stop reading now, but it will be funny.

So last night a storm system came through our area. I knew it would rain when I went to sleep. But the night before it had rained so I wasn't much concerned. The weatherman had said it would be a thunderstorm...a complete understatement.

I didn't look at the clock when me phone rang, but it was past 11 because that's about the time I fell asleep. (Don't let me lose you, I tend to ramble.) Guess who, my Dad. He's always watching the weather outside and he had been up "surfing" as he does. He was calling to let me know there was a storm coming. Now remember that it's late at night...I'm half asleep...so I probably wasn't as receptive as I should have been. I might have ignored half of what he was saying while thinking, "you called and woke me up to tell me that it was going to storm." But I said something like it would've been okay because I was asleep. We hung up.

WELL...and I realize I'm totally rambling but it's worth it...about a half an hour later the bottom fell out of the sky. It sounded like someone was shooting bb's at the windows. Freaky amazing. So I jumped up, got my kids out of bed and made them go to the bathroom. And then I went to look outside. It looked like it had snowed. Hail was everywhere. It was lightning. It was thundering. I was like NOTHING I had seen before in my life. And so I had to wake up everyone else in the house, my husband and father-in-law. It was crazy.

SOO...I didn't have the wits about me last night to get the camera, so this morning Chris tells me there's still these piles of hail on the ground at the eves of the house. I was almost giddy. I wanted everyone that doesn't live here to see it. So, after all that... here's the pic.

Now it's probably a let down, but that's a pretty big pile and it had been rained on, because we had a second storm, and the sun had come up since it had fallen.
