... Lester Street ...

Okay, so the big news...no not "news"...tragedy in Memphis this week is that the police have found 6 people killed in a house. Yep, SIX. Can you imagine that? Someone (maybe some people) went to this house where there were 4 adults and 5 children and either shot or stabbed them ... 2 children and 4 adults to death. Shocking. Why?

And the police cannot get any information to solve this crime. No one will tell what they know. Fear is in control on this one. I can only hope I would have the strength to tell. BUT as a mother, sister, daughter...I really would hope that if someone knew who had murdered my family...CHILDREN...that they would come forward. These people/person killed and/or injured 5 children. Do they really want them out on the street? What's to say they won't do it again...nothing. These people are callus coldblooded...damn!...I'm mad, sad and outraged.

There is information about the adult victims. Each of them have had run ins with the law. Each photo that the news showed was a mugshot. Couldn't those families come forward with a great picture of them having some fun, maybe at a birthday or party....shouldn't the media show a happier picture. These people were human. And even if they had a hand in their own demise, so what, they're still victims. They should be talked about as such. It wasn't their fault they were shot and killed...the person that did it is in the wrong...hello? They may not have lead the straight and narrow life style that most of society does, but they were in that house hanging out (I assume). That's another thing that gets to me...the media almost saying, "well, we know about the victims. they were thugs, with criminal records...on the the grand canyon being flooded." If they would have been fine upstanding citizens, there may have been some kind of town hall meeting called or around the clock updates...or maybe police protection for the entire community. Who knows why things are the way the are....I just don't like that part.

I fell this was a well planned "massacre." And I just hope that someone will have the strength to speak up and tell what they know. Someone's momma or sister or girlfriend knows that their family member did this. He's not acting the same as he did before Sunday (or Saturday night..the police aren't sure). Or he's missing, gone on an unplanned trip maybe. Maybe staying at a friend's house.... There's something different. And he knows these victims.

Now I know I'm being presumptuous in assuming that this killer is a man. But I couldn't imagine a woman being able to shoot 4 grown people and not be injured or subdued by one of them.

I pray for these families and the children that are clinging to life in the hospital.
